Olszanski. All rights reserved.    Asian Influences & Inspiration Many of the textile collages I create are inspired by the Asian art displayed in tokonomas alcoves. Tokonomas were the sacred center of a traditional Japanese home, and reserved for treasured items like scrolls or calligraphy, beautiful kimonos, ikebana flower arrangements, miniature bonsai trees, and fine ceramics for tea ceremonies.
