Please see my 'other auctions.'  Artwork Copyright 2008: Michael Sean/Designs by Sean The Inspiration for part of the backdrop of this piece was taken from a charcoal drawing by John Singer Sargent (1856-1925) created in 1911. It depicts ballet star Vaslav Nijinsky in costume for "Le Pavillon d'Armide." This is the Original drawing from which my limited edition was created. This original  pencil  study was created in  July 2008.   The image size on this piece measures 7.5 by 8 inches,  with an outside paper dimension of 8.5 by 11 inches.  It has been drawn on 100 lb.(heavy weight), acid-free vellum bristol, using the full range of Staedtler drawing pencils. The drawing was then sprayed with a light coat of matte fixative, to set and protect the image.   The drawing is signed by the artist, and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, which is also signed and dated by the artist. The scan does not do the piece justice.  It is much shaper and more detailed than can be shown here.  And, naturally, the 'Designs by Sean' watermark will not be on the finished piece.
