Description (revised) Item Specifics Region of Origin : DUTCH Medium: Oil on canvas PLEASE NOTE: In 1976 one of Alexander Praags paintings sold by Loyd's of London at auction for $72,000. Google this artist to check out his worth. This picture is all original and in the original frame which adds to the value. It is a steal at our opening bid but we are open to offers. You are welcome to come and see the picture in person or to have one of your experts examine the painting. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT US. The painting subject matter is of a lake with boaters and people walking on the grounds and rowing in a boat. There is a castle in the background. Item Description: Alexander Praag is a noted listed artist His paintings sell for hundreds of thousands! We would like to present an Antique oil Painting on canvas in it's original frame. It is signed on the back of the picture in charcoal A Praag, J 1835. Alexander Soloman Van Praag lived 1812- 1865. The oil painting is 14" by 18" framed it is 27" by 24". The painting has crazing and some very very old repairs to tears that now need attention, there looks to be some paint overs on the clouds. It will need to be professionally cleaned and possibly repairs should be redone to increase value although it displays well as is. PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE NOT EXPERTS. You will need to authenticate this oil painting as we have no way to do that. We acquired the painting as presented to you. ALSO: Signature: Painting is signed on back in pencil. We have not taken apart the painting to see if it is signed elsewhere. . This painting is guaranteed to be an original oil painting and very old. Condition: old old old crazed, small tear and darkened with age and has old repairs. Frame has some chips. Provenance: This painting came from a private US collection.
