Description
Bid now if you are interested as everything will be taken off ebay by Saturday the 20th!Brazilian-born artist Irene Fernandes has produced stunning textiles to live with for the Palm Beach and Rio de'Janeiro markets.  Now her amazingly crafted throws/table covers/accent pieces available in auction.Irene crafted this 62x77 inch patchwork throw by layering together two separate patchwork textiles --one side worked with denim throughout--- and trimmed it with her signature combination of blanket stitching and crochet finish. The edge is very sturdy as she crochets right into the finished blanket stitch on the textile. This sofa throw/bed spread is reversible -- containing 2 layers of quality slipcover and drapery fabric - no fiberfill to get lumpy. The one pictured here shows a predominantly blue denim patchwork array with multi and especially red accents (perfect for Christmas) and includes many plaids, window panes, stripes, checks and watercolor motifs. The reverse side is predominantly reds and greens including polka dots, plaid damasks, tapestry and florals--perfect colors for the holidays. The beautiful rich crocheted border appears to be some fancy soft wool (angora?)in reds, greens and beiges.Irene's clients use her sumptuous reversible textile patchworks for cozy sofa throws, fancy table covers, bed covers and wall decoration. Her patchwork textiles are very well blocked and carefully crafted.Of course each item is unique. Irene carefully pieces together artistic arrangements of luxury fabrics and sews by hand and machine. There are dozens of hours of hand-crafted work in each item and they are made to be lived with and to last a long time.If you enjoy textiles put this site on your favorites as more of Irene's work will be here in the coming months. For information on Irene Fernandes' textile fine art see her site at Lu-My-Lu.com. Fernandes exhibits her fine art in various galleries.Dry clean or spot cleaning recommended.  (I like to soak my textiles in a tub of room temperature water)The fabrics are protected with the manufacturer's fine sheen and finish. For more photos kindly send your e-mail address.Gift wrap is available for $4.
