Description
The tittle is "Ciudad Amurallada II" The painting size is approximately 48'' x 72'' inches. An original piece made in acrylic's over canvas. It is based in the history of San Juan city in the times of the spanish colonization, seen trough the eyes of the surrealism style. The colonial city of San Juan appears inside a Coconut in the middle of the sea as a symbol of the tropic. It is surrounded by walls that were created in that time as a defense against the invaders during the Spanish colinizacion . At the end of the street it can be appreciated what used to be called as the main entrance to this city. Kayra Arenas ia a recognized artist who has traveled almost all Unites States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Spain and Italy wich experience has enriched her pieces of work. Many of her artwork are kept in hands of collectionist in Puerto Rico, United States, Mexico and Spain. Kayra Arenas has an extense artistic trajectory since 1987. She has recieved innumerable awards and appreciations from the Puerto Rican Cartoonist Association as Distinguished Cartoonist, Puerto Rican Culture of Florida Deltona Chapter for the "Estampas Puertorriquenas" collection, appreciation for her contribution for the culture, AICA (International Art Critics of Paris) and Awards from the Puerto Rico Senate for her cultural labor in the APA, in FL and PR and the award for Artistic Trajectory from the Representative Chamber of Puerto Rico. * The paining comes with an autenticity certificate form the artist.
